Material : UNDER THE SURFACE
A COLLECTION OF HANDHELD MIRRORS
In ancient times the first humans saw themselves mirrored in water.
It is easy to imagine our ancestors interacting with their dancing, fluid reflections, wondering with fascination who was on the other side of the surface.
Inspired by these early experiences with water I have created a collection of hand held mirrors, both delicate and playful.
By pouring resins and manipulating various reflective surfaces, the mirror turns into an image in motion, gaining a new materiality, intriguing the perception.
It triggers our imagination and invites us to search for what lies under its surface.
